Wealth by Health will be in collaboration with RIO in Honduras, San Pedro Sula, to serve patients from underserved areas who face significant challenges in accessing healthcare. Healthcare providers are urgently needed to deliver vital services to this population.

Honduras 2025: Medical Mission Itinerary (tentative)
Los Angeles -> San Pedro Sula -> Los Angeles
Jan 18th-Jan 26th, 2025
Day 1: Jan 18th, 2025
Depart LAX for flight in the morning 1/18.​

We will be picked up and transported to our home base at Pan-American Health Services (PAHS), which is about a 2-hr drive south of the airport.
​
Day 2: Jan 19th, 2025
Orientation and prep for our clinical days
​
Day 3-7: Jan 20th-Jan 24th, 2025
Clinic days. We will be transported to the local clinic to see patients. We may also choose to go to rural villages to provide whatever clinical care/education that is needed.

Day 8: Jan 25th, 2025
Fun day and packing to leave (for Roatan!). Currently, we are planning a group excursion to the Pulhapanzak Waterfalls.

Day 9: Jan 26th, 2025
Bus back to SAP and depart for LAX (if going home), or to Roatan (RTB) in afternoon.​
Day 9-13: Jan 26th-Jan 30th, 2025
Fun on Roatan - diving, snorkeling, beach, food, alcohol. We'll also have the opportunity to take day trips to Utila. We are planning to rent an Airbnb unless there are objections. It's about $50-$60/person/night.
Day 14: Jan 31st, 2025
Leave RTB back to SAP and then back to LAX

Lodging

We will be staying on campus at PAHS, which will be very Spartan.

We will likely be separated into 2 dorm rooms by gender.

The water pressure for the shower was not that great.
-
There is a common area behind the dorm that we can use to store supplies, prep for excursion, and eat.
-
There is also a refrigerator to store cold beverage if desired.
-
You cannot flush toilet paper!

PAHS will serve us simple breakfast each day, emphasis on simple.

For clinic days, they will prep a to-go lunch for us.

For non clinic days, we can either have a hot lunch served by PAHS, or go to the local town to eat.
-
Same for dinner - we can either have a hot lunch served by PAHS, or go to the local town to eat.

We just need to notify staff so they won't prepare meals for us when we plan to eat in town.
